Rock up and Race 27th June 2015

Gyllyngvase SLSC are delighted to introduce the 'Rock up and Race' series for 2025. "Rock up and Race" events are held every 2 weeks on Friday nights from Gyllyngvase Beach, the next one is on Friday 27thJune 25. The races will be held over the same course each time and you can choose your race either 1 Lap at approx 3 km or 2 laps at approx 6km or 3 laps at aprox 9km "Rock up and Race" will provide racing for the following craft: 1) Ocean Ski 2) Spec Ski 3) SUP Board 4) Prone Board/Lifesaving Board 5) Outrigger Registration opens on beach - 18.00 Compulsory briefing time - 18.50 Start time - 19.00 "Rock up and Race" entry requirements are: 1) Minimum age 13 (as at 31 December 2024) 2) Must be a member of SLSGB 3) Must have a PFD (Ocean & Spec Ski), whistle & leash Entry Fee of £5 per race. Your first entry must be made online by 20.00 on the Thursday prior to your first race, so SLSGB membership can be checked, after that, its ‘Rock up & Race’, just bring your £5 in cash or we hope to have a card machine this year but it will be £5.50
Cornish Youth Surf Championships 2025 - (Entry for Gyllyngvase SLSC Members Only)

Cornish Youth Surf Championships 2025. Location: Portreath Beach Date : Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 July 2025 SLS Cornwall Youth Championship Individual Age Groups Minimum Age for the youth events is 12 years of age as at 31st December last year, and Maximum age is 19 years as at 31st December this year. • Youth 13: will reach the age of 13 in the year of the competition • Youth 14/15: will reach the age of 14 or 15 in the year of competition • Youth 16/17: will reach the age of 16 or 17 in the year of competition. • Youth 18/19: will reach the age of 18 or 19 in the year of competition Pair and Team Age Groups In all pair and team events a competitor can compete up 1 age group but can only compete in 1 pair and 1 team per event. The following events will be contested at this year's Youth Championship INDIVIDUAL EVENTS 13yrs male / female - 1km run, Flags, Sprint, Board, Ski, Surf Race, Ocean Boy/Girl (no ski) 14/15yrs male / female - 1km run, Flags, Sprint, Board, Ski, Surf, Ocean Boy/Girl 16/17yrs male / female - 1km run, Flags, Sprint, Board, Ski, Surf, Ocean Boy/Girl 18/19yrs male / female - 1km run, Flags, Sprint, Board, Ski, Surf, Ocean Boy/Girl TEAM EVENTS 13yr beach relay male/female - Maximum 2 team per club 2male/2female 14/15yr beach relay male/female - Maximum 2 team per club 2male/2female 16/17yr beach relay male/female - Maximum 2 team per club 2male/2female 13/14/15 board relay male/female 16/17yr board relay male/female 18/19yr board relay male/female 13/14/15yr Taplin male/female 16/17yr Taplin male/female 18/19yr Taplin male/female 16/17yr ski relay male/female 18/19yr ski relay male/female Pairs Events – maximum 2 pairs in board rescue and 3 pairs in Double Ski, 1 pair in tube rescue. Cornish Nipper Surf Championships 2025. Location: Carlyon Bay Date: Saturday 12 July & Sunday 13 July 2025 Age Groups: Minimum age for this event is 7yrs of age as at 31st December last year, details as follows: 8yrs: aged 7 on 31st December last year and will attain the age of 8 this year. 9yrs: aged 8 on 31st December last year and will attain the age of 9 this year. 10yrs: aged 9 on 31st December last year and will attain the age of 10 this year. 11yrs: aged 10 on 31st December last year and will attain the age of 11 this year. 12yrs: aged 11 on 31st December last year and will attain the age of 12 this year. 13yrs: aged 12 on 31st December last year and will attain the age of 13 this year. Gyllyngvase SLSC Endless Summer Swim 2025

The Endless Summer Swim is coming to Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth on Saturday 27 September 2025. There are a number of different distances and age-groups available in what is one of Cornwall's highest rated swim events. Age Group Event, Distance and Start Times. (age categories are based on your age as at 31 December 2025) Open 18 to 29, Masters 30 to 49 & Masters 50+ 1500m - 10:00 Open 18 to 29, Masters 30 to 49 & Masters 50+ 800m - 11:00 Youth aged 14 to 17 800m - 11:15 Nippers aged 12 & 13 800m - 11:30 Nippers aged 10 & 11 600m - 12:00 Nippers aged 8 & 9 300m - 12:30 All pre-entries are guaranteed an Endless Summer Swim designed T-Shirt (select required size at checkout) and for only £20 entry fee it remains exceptional value for money. You must enter by Friday 6 September at 18:00 to guarantee T-shirt. Online entries close Friday 19th September at 18:00 but entries on the day are accepted on the day up to 30 minutes prior to race start, (No t-shirt for entries received after Friday 6 September ).
